The Silver Mullet ...I mean Bullet...

Sometimes I enjoy living in South Africa. The sky is more beautiful here than anywhere else I've been. The culture is so diverse that I learn so much everyday about other people. I get to try my hand at 11 different languages of which I have mastered one. English.

I have many reasons why I do not in fact like living in South Africa though.

Top Three Reasons I Hate Living in South Africa

1. Black Empowerment. I am not black. My parents are not well-off. 'nuff said.

2. Theft. Family car was broken into recently. Thankfully we still have our car (unlike last time) and no one was hurt in the process.

3. My Farmer's tan. The walk from the car to work this morning left me with a slightly darker forearm than upper arm. Hooray! Now I look like David Letterman's feet.

Joy of all joys.

Sometimes I count down the years until I move back to the states. Then I watch Gossip Girl and am thankful I am right where I am.

The Farmer's tan! Classic stuff.

And I think you'd find theft in the states too. Depending on where you were I guess.

I am sure you do. I grew up in Oregon and we had theft sometimes.

Here though, its getting a bit over the top. And it's super sad too becassue it is such a beautiful place.

I've lived in SA my whole life now and I can honestly tell you nothing good has come of it since like 1996. Crime in America is nothing compared to here, and they don't put all the shit that happens here in the news hey! You don't hear about all the horrific stories of rape, murder, thefts, etc. overseas like we do here.

Good luck and give me jingle sometime on Mega Ramblings.

Mary- I actually do read our blog often but haven't found where you enabled comments!

This is bad because I am not even blonde. :)

I agree, crime has become ridiculous. It has only been worsened by the media's complacency by it... If we heard about the rapes, the murders and the break ins we might actually do something about it. Like elect a new governing body. Having lived in the States, I saw that crime was reported on and tracked. Even 'little' crimes (meaning ones that weren't a. massacres and b. committed by political figures)

I can not contain my hatred for the ANC.

This concludes my rant. Let me know when you (or if you already have) enable comments! :)

Nothing like a farmer's tan. If you're a farmer that is. Wait....are you a farmer?

Gota love the farmers tan!! Though it's terrible to get rid of!

I couldn't find a place to leave comments on Mary's blog either, don't feel bad!!

I think the crime rate in America may be rising in some parts due to economics an all... Blasted stuff!

I always end up with a farmer's tan at the beginning of summer and it usually stays that way until winter hits.

I would still love to see South Africa, though.

I would choose to live in SA anyday! You're so lucky! Anything is better than the 2ft of snow we got this weekend in Micigan. No farmers tan needed here tho...I'm naturaly bbq'd

Dr Zibbs- If I were a farmer it would totally explain my tanlines. Unfortunately I sit in an office all day. hmmm. Note to self- become a farmer to hide tan line...

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Hillbilly- It's realoly sad that crime is sopiling so many beautiful places. Lets protest! Oh wait, we already are...

Great to see you around these parts! :)

Ron- Yeah yeah, you and your asian skin. Totally unfair. And I am documenting this admittal that SA is better than Canada. Elizabeth 1 Ron 0... :)
